Renovation and Expansion of Historic Burlingame Library
This historic library in Burlingame, California, had been damaged in the Loma Prieta earthquake. The building was enlarged by lengthening and lowering the floor of the basement to a depth of 18 feet to create more space for book storage and reading areas. The project team used the Construction Communicator™ construction management system to record data centrally and to generate reports on the outstanding RFIs, submittals and change order requests. The reports were printed out for weekly meetings with the contractor, owner and architect. The construction project management system kept the team up-to-date on the status of the various construction documents. Additionally, the construction management software provided an organized way to file the RFI responses with the original questions, to expedite decision-making and resolve issues.
